-KIM MATHERS STRIKES BACK:
In addition to the various people suing Eminem -- including his own mother -- his estranged wife, Kim Mathers, just slapped him with a $10 million lawsuit and is seeking full custody of their 4-year-old daughter, says The Detroit Free Press. (Eminem had filed divorce papers last week in Detroit, Michigan, reportedly in the hopes of ending their marriage peacefully and establishing joint custody.) In the divorce counterclaim, Kim says they've been separated since his June 4 arrest for allegedly attacking a man outside a Warren, MI nightclub, and that he's only spent three nights at their home since. Kim's lawyers are asking a Macomb County Circuit Court to award her the $10 million in response to Eminem's disturbing behavior, like how he raps about killing his wife in the song "Kim," and how he's been known to kick around an inflatable doll named "Kim" onstage during the "Up in Smoke" tour. (Kim attempted suicide last month after watching Eminem perform.) Eminem's manager told The Detroit Free Press that "songs like ['Kim'] are protected by artistic expression," and said he was concerned about the increasingly bitter nature of the divorce proceedings.


-MADONNA GAVE BIRTH:
On August 11 (2000), Madonna gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, whom she has named Rocco Ritchie. Rocco's father is Madonna's boyfriend (for over a year), film director Guy Ritchie. Though the birth was premature, Madonna and the baby are both said to be healthy and doing well.
